Fort Erie was the site of the bloodiest battlefield in the history of Canada. The Siege of Fort Erie was one of the last and most prolonged actions between British and American forces during the Niagara campaign of the War of 1812.  The Americans successfully defended Fort Erie against a British Army.  The British suffered heavy casualties in a failed storming attempt, sickness and exposure in their rough encampments.

At the end British Suffered 350+ killed (many of whom were killed in the explosion of the fort’s magazine).
